This is a reminder that we are accepting registration for our next round robin session atMayfair East on Saturday, November 26. This is a great opportunity to play some indoor tennis and mingle with others afterward over refreshments.
Should you wish to participate, please reply with your name and telephone number so that we can book the courts in advance.

Location: Mayfair East
Format: (Mixed round robin, Men's and Women's round robin)
Cost: $25/per person
Maximum: 24 players (first 24 to reply)
Refreshment, finger foods and snacks will be served after the round robin.
P.S - We will be sending out a confirmation shortly for those who have already pre-registered.

Welcome to the 2011 tennis season. Pomona Valley has 6 newly resurfaced courts, availability by the hour. There is plenty of court time available as there are no leagues or tournaments. Lots of time for friendly and fun tennis.
OPENING DAY will be on Saturday April 30th with a rain date of Sunday May 1st. Starting time will be 11.00 AM. Come out and:
• Enjoy a friendly Round Robin
• Have a complementary BBQ lunch
• Pick up your 2011 season Shoe Tags, shoe tag must be worn at all times during play when on courts, NO EXCEPTION.
• Meet the Pro
APPLICATION FORMS are enclosed. Please fill them in and mail as soon as possible. We will have your tags ready for you to pick up on Opening Day.
Note- many members chose to not mail in the application form and opt instead to bring them to the Club on opening day – it is MUCH easier for the executive if you mail it in early so that your tags are ready for you to pick up on opening day.
Exciting news, we have a new very competent, ambitious coach this year –
Mark Fainblum, he is a full time Mayfair Tennis Pro. Mark brings a lot of experience with him and we look forward to welcome his tennis camp for our juniors. He will teach group, private lesson, as well Mark will be running a summer junior tennis camp at Pomona. You will meet Mark on opening day.
Reza Jovaini will return as our part time coach for those who have been having lessons with him for the last few years.
We are also very fortunate to have Mr.Abbas Kheltash as our part time pro.
During the winter Abbas is a full time tennis instructor at Mayfair Tennis Club.
You will meet both Abbas , the Canadian Tennis Champion, and Reza at the opening.
ROUND ROBINS have always been a very important function to many of our members. We have an Executive member dedicated to Round Robins. This person will oversee all facets of the Round Robins including training the Monitors to run them. The Round Robin program is as follows:
• Ladies- every Wednesday starting at 7.00 PM.
• Men's- every Monday starting at 7.00 PM.
• Mixed- every Friday starting at 7.00 PM.
• Morning Mixed- three courts are made available every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for a Mixed Round Robin starting at 8.00 AM. The morning Round Robin will be cancelled on Civic holidays. Monitors will be available during school holidays otherwise players must take care of their own courts.
THE MONITOR RULES! Our Monitor's job is to perform their job as per the club rules and direction from the Executive. Pomona Valley Tennis Club expects all members treat our Monitors with respect and do not challenge their instructions. If you have an issue please take it up with an Executive member.
A MESSAGE FROM YOUR EXECUTIVE- the Pomona Valley Tennis Club provides low cost tennis at a beautiful location. The costs are kept to a minimum because members volunteer their time to run the club.
Currently the Executive consists of nine volunteers. The success of Pomona is dependent upon quality volunteers coming forward. Please seriously consider your participation. The Executive will be asking for volunteers during the year. New volunteers are always welcome.
Pomona Valley Tennis Club is your club. Please treat it with respect and try to leave it cleaner than you found it!! Thank you.
